SEC Football: Mertz, Rattler rise in Week 8 QB Power Rankings
8. Brady Cook (Missouri)
Previous Ranking: 8
Cook didn’t dazzle as much as he had in recent games, but he was still solid as Missouri knocked off Kentucky 38-21 in a big SEC East game. Cook ended up going 19/29 for 175 passing yards, 40 rushing yards, 2 TD’s (1 passing, 1 rushing), and 1 INT. On the year, Cook has a 71% completion percentage (154/217 passing), 2,054 passing yards, 70 rushing yards, 18 total TD’s (14 passing, 4 rushing), and 3 INT’s.
Missouri will look to keep pace in the SEC East as they host Spencer Rattler and South Carolina on Saturday at 3:30 pm Eastern.
7. Joe Milton III (Tennessee)
Previous Ranking: 6
Tennessee’s offensive attack was very run heavy (rushed for 232 yards) as they picked up a big 20-13 win over Texas A&M. The downside however was that Tennessee struggled to get much going in the passing attack. Milton went 11/22 through the air for 100 passing yards, 34 rushing yards, 1 passing TD, and 1 INT. Milton currently has a 61.5% completion percentage (112/182 passing), 1,264 passing yards, 173 rushing yards, 14 total TD’s (10 passing, 4 rushing), and 4 INT’s overall.
As previously mentioned, Milton and the Vols will take on Jalen Milroe and Alabama in what is not only a top 20 matchup, but what is also one of SEC football’s biggest rivalries. The “Third Saturday in October” is at 3:30 pm Eastern.
