Coming off a week in which five teams from across the conference were on a bye week, here is the latest update of our 2023 SEC football power rankings as we enter Week 9.
Ole Miss, Mississippi State rise in Week 9 2023 SEC football power rankings
14. Vanderbilt Commodores
Previous Ranking: 14
Vanderbilt remains at No. 14 to begin this week’s update, as the Commodores were the first of a total of five SEC football teams to not play Saturday due to a bye week.
Having lost their last six games, Vanderbilt (2-6 overall, 0-4 in SEC) will return to action Saturday at Ole Miss.
13. Arkansas Razorbacks
Previous Ranking: 10
Dropping three spots from No. 10 to No. 13 this week are the Arkansas Razorbacks, as they lose their sixth consecutive game Saturday by falling at home to Mississippi State, 7-3. Likely the worst offensive performance of the season for Arkansas so far, the Razorbacks would be out-gained in total yardage, 205-200, with their three-point total for the game by far their lowest of the year so far.
Now sitting at 2-6 overall, as well as winless at 0-5 in SEC play, the Razorbacks now enter their bye week.
