SEC Football: LSU, Auburn among October 2023 recruiting winners

Vanderbilt Commodores

October Commits:

  • 4-star TE Witt Edwards
  • 3-star CB Jaylin Lackey

Beginning the other notable winners during October 2023 are the Vanderbilt Commodores, who added two commitments throughout the month, the biggest of which was from four-star tight end Witt Edwards out of Wagoner (OK). With both commitments coming via the 2024 class, the Commodores also landed a commit from three-star cornerback Jaylin Lackey out of South Gwinnett (GA), who flipped from Virginia.

Mississippi State Bulldogs

October Commits:

  • 3-star ATH KaMario Taylor
  • 3-star DL Ashun Shepphard
  • LB Branden Jennings

Mississippi State landed three commitments during October 2023, with one coming via their 2025 class in three-star athlete KaMario Taylor out of in-state Noxubee County (MS). Mississippi State’s other two commits came from their 2024 class with a pair of in-state JUCO prospects in three-star defensive lineman Ashun Shepphard out of East Mississippi C.C. (MS), as well as linebacker Branden Jennings out of Hinds C.C. (MS).

South Carolina Gamecocks

October Commits:

  • 4-star CB Jalewis Solomon
  • 3-star WR Jayden Sellers

Concluding with South Carolina, the Gamecocks landed two commitments during the month, with one coming via their 2024 class in four-star cornerback Jalewis Solomon, a former Auburn commit out of Schley County (GA). The Gamecocks also added the first commitment of the 2025 cycle in Jayden Sellers, a three-star wide receiver out of in-state South Florence (SC).
