4. Arkansas Razorbacks

Sitting at No. 4 in our 2023-24 SEC basketball preseason power rankings is Arkansas, with the Razorbacks now set to enter year No. 5 of the Eric Musselman era in Fayetteville.

The Razorbacks are coming off yet another strong season in which they finished at 22-14 overall, as well as 8-10 in SEC play. Making their third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, where they would reach the Sweet 16, this would however be Arkansas’ lowest overall and conference win totals since the 2019-20 campaign (20-12 overall, 7-11 in SEC).

After averaging 74.1 PPG last season, as well as allowing 67.9 PPG, the Razorbacks are now set to replace their top three scorers from last season in Ricky Council, Anthony Black, and Nick Smith Jr., all three of which averaged in double-figures. Also having moved on is another prominent player in Jordan Walsh, along with others including Makhel Mitchell and Kamani Johnson.

Headlining the returning talent for Arkansas however are a pair of double-digit scorers in Trevon Brazile and Davonte Davis, while other notable names such as Makhi Mitchell and Jalen Graham are also back. Joining that trio will once again be a talented list of newcomers that includes the likes of Louisville transfer El Ellis, Temple transfer Khalif Battle, and Houston transfer Tramon Mark, as well as four-star freshmen Baye Fall and Layden Blocker.

Arkansas will open their 2023-24 season November 6 at home against Alcorn State.
