3. Texas A&M Aggies

Coming in at No. 3 in our 2023-24 SEC basketball preseason power rankings is Texas A&M, who are entering the fifth season of the Buzz Williams era in College Station.

Texas A&M is coming off what was likely their best season in recent memory, as they finished the year at 25-10 overall, as well as 15-3 in SEC play, which was their highest win-total since joining the conference back in 2012-13. This was also the Aggies first time making the NCAA Tournament since 2017-18, with Texas A&M falling in the Round of 64.

After averaging 72.8 PPG last season, as well as allowing 66.5 PPG to opponents, the Aggies do return a significant amount of production, but will also have to replace a few names as well. The biggest of those is undoubtedly that of Dexter Dennis, who averaged 9.5 PPG and 5.7 RPG last season for the Aggies.

Headlining the returning talent for Texas A&M is one of the SEC’s top guard duos in Wade Taylor IV and Tyrece Radford, while others are also back such as Julius Marble, Henry Coleman III, Manny Obaseki, Andersson Garcia, and more. Joining that group will be a few newcomers as well, with the likes of Middle Tennessee transfer Eli Lawrence and Illinois-Chicago transfer Jace Carter headlining that group.

The Aggies will officially open their 2023-24 season November 6 at home against Texas A&M-Commerce.
