7. Auburn Tigers

Sitting at No. 7 in our 2023-24 preseason SEC basketball power rankings are the Auburn Tigers, who enter year No. 10 under head coach Bruce Pearl on the Plains.

The Tigers are coming off their second consecutive 20+ win season, as Auburn finished last year at 21-13 overall, as well as 10-8 in SEC play. This would also be the Tigers second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, where they would reach the Round of 32.

After averaging 72.8 PPG last season, while also allowing 67.7 PPG, Auburn will have to replace two double-digit scorers from a year ago in Wendell Green Jr. and Allen Flanigan, along with a few others. Included in that group were the likes of Zep Jasper, Yohan Traore, and Chance Westry.

Headlining the returning names for Auburn this season are two double-digit scorers in Johni Broome and Jaylin Williams, along with a few other names in K.D. Johnson, Dylan Cardwell, Chris Moore, Tre Donaldson, and Lior Berman. Joining that group will be newcomers that include talented five-star freshman Aden Holloway, as well as FIU transfer Denver Jones.

Auburn will open their 2023-24 season November 7 in Sioux Falls, SD against Baylor.
