With SEC Women’s Basketball beginning, there are a lot of new faces that will be taking the court for SEC programs this season. Many of them have joined arguably the nation’s top WBB conference from the transfer portal. With that being said, here are the SEC’s 5 biggest Transfer Portal Winners from this past offseason.

5 biggest SEC women’s basketball transfer portal winners of the offseason

5. Texas A&M Aggies

Additions – Aicha Coulibaly (From Auburn), Endyia Rogers (Oregon), Kyndall Hunter (Texas), and Lauren Ware (Arizona)

Texas A&M head coach Joni Taylor continues to remake the Aggies roster heading into year two of her tenure. After A&M went 9-20 in her first year, she added a strong group of transfer portal commitments.

Aicha Coulibaly is one of the top intra-SEC transfers of the offseason after a strong three-year career at Auburn. This past season Coulibaly averaged 16 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 1.7 APG, and 2.2 SPG in order to earn 2nd team All-SEC honors. Coulibaly shot 41% from the field on the year. The Mali native averaged 13.1 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 1.8 SPG in 76 games across her three year career on the plains. Coulibaly is ranked as the No. 22 transfer in the class according to ESPN.

Rogers heads to College Station after back-to-back first team All-Pac 12 selections at Oregon in 2021/22 and 2022/23. Last year Rogers averaged 15.9 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 3.9 APG across 35 games. Rogers also had strong shooting numbers, shooting 45.3% from the field and 38.7% from three. Across her two year career at Oregon, Rogers averaged 15.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG, and 3.6 RPG on 43.6% shooting from the field and 35.8% shooting from three. Rogers also previously played for USC from 2019-2021 where she averaged 13.8 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 3.5 APG while shooting 37.7% in those two seasons. Rogers is ranked as the No. 5 transfer in the class according to ESPN.

Hunter and Ware are both interesting additions in that they both missed the entire 2022/23 season, but are both former highly ranked recruits.

Ware comes from Arizona where she missed 2022/23 with injury. In 2021/22, Ware averaged 5.7 PPG and 4.2 RPG on 40.8% shooting across 25 games (24 starts). Ware also had an impact as a Freshman in 2020/21, appearing in 27 games off the bench. For her career in Tucson, Ware averaged a combined 4.8 PPG and 4.0 RPG on 41.8% shooting. Ware was a top five ranked High School recruit in the class of 2020 according to ESPN. Ware is ranked as the No. 31 transfer in the class.

Hunter comes from Texas where she played her Freshman season in 2021/22 before sitting out this past year. In that Freshman season, Hunter averaged 3.0 PPG on 35.9% shooting from the field (38.9% shooting from deep) while appearing in 21 contests (one start). Hunter was a top 25 recruit nationally in the class of 2021 and was a McDonald’s All-American.
