October Commits:

  • 5-star PF Asa Newell
  • 4-star SF Jacob Wilkins

We begin with head coach Mike White and the Georgia Bulldogs, who are undoubtedly the biggest SEC basketball recruiting winner during October 2023. As to why, that is because Georgia was the lone program across the conference to add multiple commitments, which also happened to be the first in both of their 2024 and 2025 classes.

The Bulldogs 2024 commitment was arguably the biggest of the month as well, as Georgia added what was one of the nation’s top uncommitted players in Asa Newell. Newell is considered as a Top 10 player nationally in the 2024 class, as well as one of the top power forwards in the country, where he is rated as a five-star prospect out of national powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida.

Georgia’s 2025 commit was also a notable one in Jacob Wilkins, who is the son of former Bulldogs star Dominique Wilkins. Wilkins is a highly-rated four-star small forward out of in-state Grayson High School in Georgia.
