SEC Football: Milroe rises, Leary falls in SEC Quarterback Power Rankings
8. Brady Cook (Missouri)
Previous ranking: 7
Brady Cook played well or a while for Missouri as they led Georgia in the 3rd quarter. Things did not go as well late for Cook though as he threw two costly 4th quarter interceptions as Mizzou ultimately ended up falling 30-21. Cook ended up going 14/30, 212 passing yards, 39 rushing yards, 1 passing TD, and the two INT’s.
On the year, Cook now has a 67.3% completion percentage (183/272 passing), 2,471 passing yards, 173 rushing yards, 21 total TD’s (16 passing, 5 rushing), and 5 INT’s.
Cook and Missouri will look for a bounce-back on Saturday as they’ll take on Joe Milton and Tennessee 3:30 pm Eastern in a top-15 clash that is an under-the-radar big game nationally on Saturday.
7. Graham Mertz (Florida)
Previous ranking: 8
It’s hard to blame Mertz, who has been playing very well lately, for Florida’s 39-36 OT loss to Arkansas. Mertz was 26/42 for 282 yards and 3 TD’s (all through the air) which helps move up a spot. For the season, Mertz has a 73.9% completion percentage (221/299 passing), 2,409 passing yards, 20 total TD’s (17 passing, 3 rushing), and 2 INT’s.
The Gators not only have a chance to get bowl eligible this week, but they could also pull a big upset as they head into Death Valley against either Jayden Daniels or Garrett Nussmeier (more on that later) at 7:30 pm Eastern.
