SEC Football: Milroe rises, Leary falls in SEC Quarterback Power Rankings
2. Spencer Rattler (South Carolina)
Previous ranking: 2
South Carolina got a bit more than they might have reckoned for on Saturday as they knocked off Jacksonville State 38-28, however Rattler played well and you also have to remember that this was a 7-2 JSU team going into the game. Rattler went 27/38 for 399 passing yards, 3 total TD’s (2 passing, 1 rushing), and 1 INT.
On the year, Rattler now has a 69.7% completion percentage (212/304 passing), 2,516 passing yards, 63 rushing yards, 17 total TD’s (14 passing, 3 rushing), and 6 INT’s. As South Carolina looks to keep their bowl eligibility hopes alive, they’ll take on Vanderbilt at Noon Eastern on Saturday.
1. Jayden Daniels/Garrett Nussmeier (LSU)
Previous ranking: 1
Jayden Daniels did more than hold his own against Alabama’s improved defense, as he went 15/24, 219 passing yards, 163 rushing yards, 3 total TD’s (2 passing, 1 rushing), and 1 INT. However, early in the 4th Q Daniels went down after a hard hit and was eventually forced to exit. He was replaced by talented backup Garrett Nussmeier, who went 5/10 for 53 passing yards in relief. It was not enough however as LSU fell 42-28.
For the season, Daniels now has a 72.1% completion percentage (178/247 passing), 2,792 passing yards, 684 rushing yards, 33 total TD’s (27 passing, 6 rushing), and 4 INT’s. Meanwhile, Nussmeier has a 51.5% completion percentage (17/33 passing), 196 passing yards, 1 passing TD, 1 rushing TD, and 0 INT’s.
We’ll now wait and see Daniels’ availability this week as LSU takes on Florida 7:30 pm Eastern.
