6. Tennessee Volunteers
Previous Ranking: 4
Falling two spots outside the top five from No. 4 to No. 6 in this week’s update is Tennessee, as the Volunteers fell on the road at Missouri by a final score of 36-7. A game in which Tennessee committed three turnovers, the Volunteers would be outscored in the second half, 23-0, after trailing only 13-7 at halftime, as well as be out-gained in total yardage for the contest, 530-350.
Now sitting at 7-3 overall, as well as 3-3 in SEC play, Tennessee will return home this weekend for SEC football’s game of the week against Georgia.
5. Missouri Tigers
Previous Ranking: 6
As for the other team from that game, Missouri jumps a spot from No. 6 to No. 5 as a result of their 36-7 home win over Tennessee. A game in which the Tigers held a 13-7 lead at halftime, Missouri would own the 23-0 advantage in the second half, while also out-gaining Tennessee 530-350 in total yardage, 255 of which came on the ground.
Now sitting at 8-2 overall, as well as 4-2 in SEC play, Missouri will remain at home this weekend for a matchup against Florida.
