SEC Football: Cook rises, Milton falls in SEC Quarterback Power Rankings
6. Jalen Milroe (Alabama)
Previous Ranking: 8
Jalen Milroe didn’t have to do much, but did his job as Alabama raced past FCS opponent Chattanooga 66-10 this week. Milroe protected himself by not running in the game, but he was still productive through the air. He went 13/16 passing for 197 yards, 3 passing TD’s, and 0 INT’s in the blowout win. Backups Ty Simpson (4/6 for 50 passing yards and 78 rushing yards (and almost a TD)) and Dylan Lonergan (2/2 for 12 passing yards and 5 rushing yards) both also saw action.
On the season, Milroe has a 66.4% completion percentage (142/214 passing), 2,267 passing yards, 332 rushing yards, 31 total TD’s (19 passing, 12 rushing), and 6 INT’s. Alabama will look to stay in playoff contention as they take on Payton Thorne and Auburn in the Iron Bowl at 3:30 pm Eastern on Saturday.
5. KJ Jefferson (Arkansas)
Previous Ranking: 5
Arkansas used a big 2nd quarter to knock off FIU 44-20 in a game that was probably closer than expected. Jefferson had one of his more successful games of the season on the ground as he went 15/28 passing for 187 passing yards, 90 rushing yards, 3 passing TD’s, and 0 INT’s. For the season, Jefferson has a 63.9% completion percentage (188/294 passing), 2,105 passing yards, 432 rushing yards, 21 total TD’s (19 passing, 2 rushing), and 8 INT’s.
Arkansas has already been eliminated from traditional bowl-eligibility, but can end their season on a high-note as they try to spoil Brady Cook and Missouri’s NY6 hopes at 4:00 pm Eastern on Friday.
