SEC Football: Cook rises, Milton falls in SEC Quarterback Power Rankings
2. Spencer Rattler (South Carolina)
Previous Ranking: 2
South Carolina had to win on Saturday to keep their bowl hopes alive, and they did so by knocking off Kentucky 17-14. While the Gamecocks defense was the story, Rattler was efficient (going 19/27 for 207 passing yards, 24 rushing yards, 2 passing TD’s, and 0 INT’s). Rattler now has a 70.6% completion percentage (259/367 passing), 3,074 passing yards, 88 rushing yards, 23 total TD’s (19 passing, 4 rushing), and 7 INT’s.
South Carolina has to upset in-state ACC rival Clemson in order to make a bowl game. The Gamecocks will get that chance at 7:30 pm Eastern on Saturday.
1. Jayden Daniels (LSU)
Previous Ranking: 1
Heisman candidate Jayden Daniels had another absurd stat-line on Saturday as LSU cruised past Georgia State 56-14. In fact, Daniels went 25/30 through the air for 413 passing yards, 96 rushing yards, an absurd 8 total TD’s (6 passing, 2 rushing), and 0 INT’s. For the season, Daniels now has a 72.6% completion percentage (220/303 passing), 3,577 passing yards, 1,014 rushing yards, 46 total TD’s (36 passing, 10 rushing), and 4 INT’s. Daniels also joins a list of just six other Power Five QB’s (Vince Young, Johnny Manziel, Deshaun Watson, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, and Jalen Hurts) in history with a 3,000-1,000 season.
Daniels will give his last data points to the Heisman committee in LSU’s regular season finale at Noon Eastern on Saturday against Texas A&M.
