Here are a few things you need to know which took place across the SEC on Monday, December 11, headlined by a big piece of recruiting news for Alabama, the 2023 AP All-American Team being announced, transfer portal movement, and more.
5-star WR Ryan Williams reclassifies to 2024 class
One of the nation's premier players in the 2025 class, Ryan Williams has officially reclassified to the 2024 cycle. Williams, a five-star wide receiver out of Saraland High School in Alabama, has been committed to the in-state Crimson Tide since October of 2022, and is now one of the top players at the position in the 2024 cycle.
Numerous SEC players named to 2023 AP All-American Team
The SEC was well represented on the 2023 AP All-American Team, which included more players named to the First Team than any other conference across college football. The complete list of the All-American Team can be found here.
2 SEC teams ranked in latest college basketball AP Poll Top 25
Tennessee and Kentucky were the lone two SEC programs ranked in the latest college basketball AP Poll Top 25. The Volunteers sit at No. 12, while Kentucky is ranked No. 14.
Boise State transfer QB Taylen Green commits to Arkansas
Arkansas has landed a commitment from Boise State transfer quarterback Taylen Green, who has spent the last two seasons as the starter for the Broncos. Green, a redshirt sophomore, is coming off a season in which he posted a 57.1 CMP% with 1,752 passing yards and an 11:9 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for 436 yards and nine touchdowns on 78 attempts.
Coastal Carolina transfer WR Jared Brown commits to South Carolina
Coastal Carolina transfer wide receiver Jared Brown, who had 700+ yards receiving across each of the last two seasons with the Chanticleers, has committed to South Carolina. Brown amassed 58 receptions for 740 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 252 yards and a score on 15 attempts, this past season.
