Week four was a wild one and here are 10 takeaways from it.

10. The Vols are as good as advertised. Tennessee went into Norman and dominated the Sooners Saturday night. The final score doesn't show how dominate they were. This is the best defense in Knoxville for awhile, and right now they have to be considered the best team in the conference

9. It's going to be a long season on the Plains. Auburn currently sits at 2-2 on the season and haven't even gotten to the hard part of their schedule. I can't imagine there are many in the program who thought they would lose to both Cal and Arkansas at home. Until Hugh Freeze finds a legit QB it will continue being a dumpster fire in Lee County.

8. Texas continues to wreck lesser opponents. The Longhorns are doing exactly what you are supposed to do against non-Power 4 teams whether it be Arch Manning or Quinn Ewers under center. I am not sure how they got such a cush schedule in their inaugural SEC season, but outside of the Georgia game there isn't a game they should lose.

7. Ole Miss much like Texas continues to dominate lesser opponents. The stats and points are impressive, but until the Rebels play someone with a pulse. With that being said their level of competition jumps up considerably this week with SEC play starting. It will be fun to see if Lane Kiffin's team can keep this up.

6. There are no moral victories in college football, but Vandy is a much-improved team. The Commodores could very well be 4-0 on the season and put up a valiant effort against Mizzou in Columbia. it will be interesting to see if they find a way to become bowl eligible.

5. For a second week Mizzou survives a tougher than expected home game. In the most anticipated season for the Tigers since joining the SEC, it has started a little rockier than expected to start the season. The good news for this team is they are still very talented and have a week to figure some things out before their first road game on October 5th against the Aggies.

4. Texas A&M survived a tough Bowling Green team in College Station. It may not have been the sexiest win, but we knew it was going to be a tough game after the Falcons gave Penn State all they wanted. The most important thing for the Aggies is they've found their QB in Marcel Reid and have gotten better since the Week 1 loss to Notre Dame. They have a huge game in Jerry World against the Hogs next Saturday.

3. The hot seat for Sam Pittman may be a little cooler for now. The Hogs had a good showing against Oklahoma State on the road and got a dominant win on the road against Auburn on Saturday. Arkansas is in a much better place than they've been for a while and if they can finally beat the Aggies in Jerry's World next Saturday, it will be a very successful September in Fayetteville.

2. The Gators beat a Power 4 team for the first time in 11 months. It has been a tough run as of late for Billy Napier, but a dominant win on the road against Mississippi State at least gives him a little more time in Gainesville. The bad thing is this might be their only Power 4 win of the season as their schedule is ridiculous going forward.

1. The welcome to the SEC wasn't very hospitable for the Sooners. The offense never got going and they will have to find some help for that defense, or it is going to be a long inaugural SEC season for OU. Jackson Arnold has a lot to learn still, but luckily their next game is against a reeling Auburn team.
