2024 SEC Baseball Awards and First Team All-SEC

The Southeastern Conference has officially announced the award winners and All-SEC teams for the 2024 season. Lets examine take a look at these award winners.

SEC Player of the Year

The SEC Player of the Year award is going to the Georgia Bulldogs star player, Charlie Condon. This season, Condon has a batting average of .451 with 35 home runs and 75 runs batted in. He also has an OPS of 1.630, which includes an on-base percentage of .567 and a slugging percentage of 1.063.

Condon is the number one draft prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He leads division one baseball in batting average, home runs, and slugging percentage.

SEC Pitcher of the Year

The SEC Pitcher of the Year award is going to the Arkansas Razorbacks ace, Hagen Smith. This season, Smith has a 9-0 record with an earned run average of 1.52 in 77 innings pitched and has struck out 150 batters. He also has a very impressive WHIP of 0.83.

Smith is the sixth overall draft prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He leads division one baseball in earned run average, is second in strikeouts, and is fourth in WHIP.

SEC Freshman of the Year

The SEC Freshman of the Year award is going to the Texas A&M Aggies young star, Gavin Grahovac. This season, Grahovac has a .322 batting average with 19 home runs and 59 runs batted in. He also has an OPS of 1.051, which includes an on-base percentage of .417 and a slugging percentage of .634.

Grahovac was the 55th overall high school prospect according to Perfect game.

SEC Coach of the Year

The SEC Coach of the Year award is going to the Kentucky Wildcats head coach, Nick Mingione. This season, Mingione has led the Wildcats to a 39-12 overall record, with a 22-8 conference record. This team started the year unranked, but finished the regular season ranked second.
