One of the most interesting QB journeys of the last few years continues as Arizona State transfer Quarterback Jaden Rashada is headed to Georgia.

The 6'4, 185 pound QB started Arizona State's first three games in his Freshman season in 2023 before an injury sidelined him for the rest of the year. He ended up red-shirting the season. In those games, Rashada had a 53.7% completion percentage (44/82) with 485 passing yards, 4 TD's, and 3 INT's.

Rashada is the No. 71 overall player and No. 10 QB in the transfer portal according to 247. Meanwhile, On3 ranks him No. 148 overall and as the No. 20 QB. Last season he was the No. 44 overall player and No. 6 ranked QB in the HS class of 2023. He is originally from Brentwood, CA, but finished up his High School career at Pittsburg HS in Pittsburg, CA.

Rashada initially signed with Florida out of High School, but ultimately requested out of his NIL with reports being that it was over an NIL dispute. He then signed with Arizona State shortly after.

Rashada joins a QB room at Georgia that features returning starter Carson Beck, Redshirt Sophomore Gunner Stockton, and incoming Freshman Ryan Puglisi.

Georgia had been looking to add a fourth scholarship QB to their roster throughout the offseason, especially with Puglisi dealing with a knee injury throughout the spring.

After the de-commitment/flip of Dylan Raiola and Brock Vandagriff (Georgia's backup last year) entering the portal himself and heading to Kentucky, Georgia went looking for a transfer portal QB and initially zeroed in on UNLV transfer Jayden Maiava.

Maiava temporarily committed to Georgia, but quickly flipped to USC. That left Georgia still looking for a fourth QB, and when Rashada entered the portal last week many people begun thinking that a connection was likely.

Exactly what role Rashada will have at Georgia in 2024 and beyond will be interesting to watch play out. While Beck is entrenched as Georgia's starter heading into 2024, it gets interesting after that. And you also have to wonder whether Rashada will serve as the backup or if that will be Stockton. Then you have to wonder what Georgia's QB position will look like in 2025/post-Beck and whether that involves Rashada winning the starting job then.
