Auburn and Florida Win on Walk-Off Home Runs

The Auburn Tigers and Florida Gators both hit walk off home runs to secure victories on Friday. Let's recap these two games.

The nineteenth ranked Auburn Tigers began their weekend series against the Austin Peay Governors with a walkoff win.

Chase Allsup got the start for the Tigers and he struggled. In 4.2 innings pitched, Allsup struck out seven batters and gave up four hits, one walk, and four earned runs. Tanner Bauman got the win out of the bullpen with 1.1 innings pitched and a strikeout.

Jacob Weaver got the start for the Governors and struggled early, but settled down to make it all the way to the seventh inning. Through his seven innings of work, Weaver struck out three batters and allowed six hits, four walks, and five earned runs.

Auburn got off to a quick start by scoring five runs in the first two innings. The scoring began in the first inning, with a run scoring single by Cooper McMurray.

In the second inning, the Tigers scored four runs, started by a based loaded walk and hit by pitch from Ike Irish and Bobby Pierce. Cooper McMurray picked up another two runs batted in with another single.

The Governors would quickly respond in the third inning with a two run single by Clayton Gray. Jon Jon Gazdar also picked up a two run single in the fifth inning for Austin Peay.

Austin Peay would tie the game with a home run from Lyle Miller-Green. In the eighth, the Governors got the lead with a run scoring single from Justin Olson.

Auburn would respond in the eighth with a home run from Chrisitan Hall. Tanner Bauman throws a scoreless ninth inning and then Mason Maners comes up to the plate with a tied ball game. He hits a walk-off home run to win the game for the Tigers.

The final score ended 7-6 and the Tigers improved to 11-2. The Governors fell to 10-3.
