Biggest SEC Football Busts since 2005
Here are some of the biggest busts for each SEC teams since 2005.
Russell Shephard (LSU) - ESPN ranked Shephard as the number three overall prospect in the 2009 recruiting class. Shepard was recruited as an athlete, but struggled to find playing time during his time at LSU.
LSU head coach Les Miles started Shepard as a quarterback his freshman year in which he was used sparingly, before converting him to a receiver for his final three seasons.
Many Tiger fans think that Shepard had the talent the whole time, but was simply misused by the coaching staff during his time in Baton Rouge despite his athleticism.
This can be somewhat validated as Shepard went on to have a seven year career in the NFL. But still, a far cry from what could've been.
