Offensive Freshman of the Year - WR, Cam Coleman (Auburn)
Coleman is just about the perfect mix of talent/skill meeting opportunity/need. Coleman came to Auburn as a consensus 5-star and top-10 player in the 2024 class. Coleman has impressed so far at Auburn and is expected to start for the Tigers at receiver. It wouldn't surprise me if Coleman is Auburn's leading receiver this season and pushes for a 1,000-yard season (would be their first since 1999). The other big name to watch here is Alabama receiver Ryan Williams.
Defensive Freshman of the Year - DT, Jayden Jackson (Oklahoma)
While Jackson wasn't as highly recruited as Coleman or many other Freshman in the SEC, he has quickly worked his way into a position to start for Oklahoma. A 4-star prospect out of IMG Academy (originally from Brownsburg, IN), Jackson chose Oklahoma over the likes of Ohio State, Miami (FL), Florida, and Texas. He could play a major role for the CFP-hopeful Sooners this season.
