As the College Basketball Transfer portal keeps chugging along, I'll be bringing you a daily roundup of the latest portal news and notes. Here they are for Monday, April 29th:
Arkansas Lands Tennessee Transfer Center Jonas Aidoo
John Calipari and Arkansas landed one of the best interior defenders in the transfer portal on Monday in Tennessee transfer Jonas Aidoo. Aidoo averaged 11.4 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 1.8 BPG on 51.5% shooting last year at Tennessee in 24.8 minutes per game. Aidoo is a consensus top 25 player in the portal. He ranks as high as No. 8 according to On3 and also ranks at No. 14 according to 247. He should have one season of eligibility remaining.
Tennessee Adds Versatile German Big Man Igor Milicic Jr. from Charlotte
Tennessee added a stretch big via the portal on Monday in Charlotte transfer Igor Milicic Jr. Milicic averaged 12.8 PPG and 8.5 RPG last year at Charlotte. He shot 48.7% from the field and 37.6% from three (on 4.8 attempts per game). Milicic started his career at Virginia where he played for a year before heading to Charlotte for the last two seasons. He should have one season of eligibility remaining.
Oklahoma Adds Experienced Fairfield Transfer Brycen Goodine
Oklahoma has landed guard Brycen Goodine from Fairfield. In the best season of his career so far, he averaged 13.9 PPG and 3.0 RPG last season on 49.8% shooting from the field and 46.7% from three. Goodine has played in 95 career games split across 5 seasons (one at Syracuse, two with Providence, and then two with Fairfield). He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Texas Picks Up Commitment from Vanderbilt Transfer Wing Malik Presley
Presley will be heading from Vanderbilt to new SEC program Texas. Presley averaged 2.2 PPG and 1.6 RPG on 42.9% shooting in his Freshman season last year at Vandy. He appeared in 26 games, while making 5 starts.
Julius Marble Enters Transfer Portal
Texas A&M forward Julius Marble entered the portal on Monday. Marble did not play this season. In 2022/23, he averaged 9.1 PPG and 4.1 RPG for the Aggies. He began his career at Michigan State.
