After Jim Schlossnagle shocked the College Baseball world on Tuesday when he left Texas A&M for their bitter in-state rival Texas, that left the 2024 National Runner-ups searching for a new Head Coach.

With money and resources not really being an issue, I expect Texas A&M to cast a wide net.

Here are five candidates that I expect A&M to at least look at:

Erik Bakich (Clemson Head Coach)

Clemson has arguably been the best program to not make the College World Series over the last two years.

Erik Bakich is a well-travelled and experienced Head Coach, as he's been a head-man since 2010 and was an assistant at top programs for several years before that. He most recently got to Clemson in 2023.

In his two seasons at Clemson, Bakich has led the Tigers to an 88-35 (.715) record. This comes after a successful ten year tenure at Michigan, which included a National Runner-Up finish in 2019.

At Michigan, Bakich went 328-216 with five NCAA tournament appearances. For his career, Bakich has a 486-349 (.582) mark. Bakich does have SEC experience as well as he was an assistant at Vanderbilt from 2003-2009.
