Florida Gets Upset Win Over Texas A&M in Game One

The Florida Gators won game one over the Texas A&M Aggies. Let's recap game one of this three game series.

The eighth ranked Florida Gators picked up a big upset victory over the fourth ranked Texas A&M Aggies. This loss for the Aggies is their first, making their undefeated run come to an end.

Cade Fisher got the start for the Gators in game one and struggled. In six innings of work, Fisher struck out 10 batters and allowed six hits, a walk, and six earned runs. He did pick up a win tonight to improve his record to 2-1.

Brandon Neely got the save for the Gators and did very good. In three innings pitched, Neely struck out three batters and only gave up one base runner and no runs.

Ryan Prager got the start for the Aggies and had his worst start of the season. In 2.1 innings pitched, Prager struck out one batter and allowed seven hits, no walks, and six earned runs. Before this start, he had not allowed a single run.

The Gators got on the board in the first inning with a solo home run from Jac Caglianone and a run scoring single by Ty Evans.

The Aggies responded right back in the second inning started by a run scoring fielders choice by Ali Camarillo and a run scoring single by Kaeden Kent. With two runners on, Gavin Grahovac hits a three run homer to put Texas A&M up 5-2.

In the third inning, Florida gained the lead back with two home runs. The first one was a solo homer from Jac Caglianone, which was his second of the game. The go-ahead one was a three run homer by Tyler Shelnut.

Jackson Appel tied the game 6-6 with a solo home run in the fourth inning. Then in the sixth and seventh innings, Florida hit two solo home runs by Cade Kurland and Colby Shelton to give them an 8-6 lead which was enough for the win.

With this win, the Florida Gators now have a record of 11-6 and the Texas A&M Aggies fell to 17-1.
