Georgia has added another weapon to their offense as they landed a commitment from Vanderbilt Transfer receiver London Humphreys on Tuesday.

The speedy 6'3, 195 pound receiver had 22 catches, 439 receiving yards, and 4 TD's for the 'Dores in 2023, his Freshman season. Humphreys, originally out of Nashville, was a 3* recruit on most recruiting sites last year out of HS, but On3 was more bullish on him (ranking him as a 4-star). In terms of the portal, Humphreys ranks as the No. 8 overall player and No. 1 WR in the transfer portal according to 247. On3 ranks him as the No. 39 overall player in the portal and the No. 9 ranked WR.

While those raw stats might not jump off the page at you, you have to remember that 1. Georgia is looking at skill, not just production, and his mixture of size and speed does jump off the page, 2. He dealt with a difficult QB situation at Vanderbilt in 2023 with AJ Swann, Ken Seals, and Walter Taylor all seeing action and struggling at times, 3. He was splitting targets at receiver with Colorado transfer commit and very talented receiver Will Sheppard, and 4. He was just a Freshman.

Humphreys caught Georgia fans' (and potentially the coaches') eyes when he raced through the Dawgs defense to score a 49 yard TD against Georgia on Vanderbilt's opening drive of the game when the two teams faced off this season.

Georgia faces some questions at the receiver position as the team is awaiting draft decisions on Ladd McConkey and several other receivers (such as Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Dominic Lovett, and Rara Thomas). Georgia has also lost receivers Zeed Haynes and Jackson Meeks to the transfer portal (both have followed Fran Brown in transferring to Syracuse), as well as return specialist Mekhi Mews.

So, the connection to (and now commitment from) Humphreys hasn't been surprising. Georgia has also been heavily connected to another portal Wide Receiver in Miami (FL) transfer Colbie Young. Georgia also has two receivers committed in the class of 2024 in 4* NiTareon Tuggle and 3* Sacovie White.

Humphreys is also a former Track & Field, baseball, and basketball star in High School. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
