Is Another Manning on the Way to College Football?
Yes, you read that right- another Manning could be on their way to making a name for themselves in college football. Brother of Arch Manning and nephew of Eli and Peyton, Heid Manning recently played center for the Isadore Newman High School football team, following after his brother Arch who quarterbacked the team and graduated just two years ago before making his way to Austin to play for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns.
What do we Need to Know about Heid Manning?
While Heid plays a position that is not a “skill position” unlike all of the other Manning legacies, he is reportedly dominating on the field. According to Fanarch.com, “Heid has shown promise as a player, with a significant physical presence on the field.” If you are going to be an effective offensive lineman, let alone center- it is imperative that you assert yourself physically if you are to be successful. And it appears Heid is doing just that.
Heid is currently a 6-foot, 230-pound recent graduate of Isadore Newman High School and although has yet to surface on the collegiate level, do not be surprised if he at least gets a chance somewhere considering the Manning legacy.
What is the History of the Manning Family?
There are a few pieces here. To begin, Heid’s grandfather Archie Manning played quarterback for Ole Miss in the late 1960’s, as did his uncle Eli in the late 1990’s and early 200’s.
Heid’s uncle Peyton player quarterback for the Tennessee Volunteers. Both Eli and Peyton went on to have great NFL careers with Peyton winning two super bowls and Eli winning one.
Most recently in the news would be Heid’s older brother Arch who as mentioned earlier is currently at the University of Texas playing quarterback from the Texas Longhorns as the backup behind Quinn Ewers heading into 2024.
