Current LSU Gymnast and national champion Olivia “Livvy” Dunne has been alongside former LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese as two of the main face of LSU athletics and NIL since it began in 2021. And for Dunne, that will not change for another whole year as she has announced she will be returning to LSU Gymnastics for her fourth season.
Although she did not compete in the 2024 National Championship Meet, Dunne did compete in many others and earned high scores of 9.875 and 9.900 on bars and floor events that she competed it.
Why did Livvy Dunne decide to return to LSU Gymnastics?
According to LSUsports.net, Dunne stated, “This past year I found a renewed love of the sports. I had trained a lot in the off season, so I felt really strong and healthy from the start and ready to contribute…I really enjoyed the dynamic of the team this year and it all came together well. Winning the national championship was a great team accomplishment, but I feel like I have more to give as a competitor.”
Considering what Dunne has already accomplished as part of the team and how well she already has herself set up in her personal life, it is commendable that the student athlete wants to come back for another season.
Due to her success in the NIL space, Dunne and now WNBA star Reese used their earnings through the LSU NIL collective, NILSU to give back to their female counterparts on their teams and others.
What is Livvy’s Dunne’s NIL valuation?
Dunne’s NIL valuation ranks second at 3.9 Million with only Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders having a higher valuation at 4.9 Million according to On3. One would think that this kind of money would take away motivation for wanting to return to a team that at the end of the day is just a passion at this point as it is for Dunne for Dunne. So the fact that she is returning is again- commendable.
