Missouri has landed one of the top QB's in the 2025 class in four-star prospect Matt Zollers out of Spring-Ford HS in Royersford, PA, as announced on Thursday.
The 6'3.5, 200 pound QB chose the Tigers over the likes of Georgia, Penn State, and Pittsburgh.
On3 is the most bullish on Zollers, but he is a consensus top 100 recruit (along with his consensus four-star status). On3 ranks him as the No. 17 overall player and No. 3 QB in the class (behind Five-stars Bryce Underwood and JuJu Lewis). 247 ranks him No. 62 overall and as the No. 6 QB. ESPN puts him at No. 95 overall. The On3 Industry Ranking ranks Zollers No. 46 overall/No. 5 QB, while the 247 composite ranks him No. 78 overall and the No. 8 QB.
Both On3 and 247 mention Zollers athleticism as a plus, and that he has a strong arm as well.
In his Junior season this past year, Zollers completed 62.8% of his passes for 2,917 passing yards and 37 passing TD's to just 2 INT's. He also added 420 rushing yards and 7 more TD's while being an all-state selection.
In his Sophomore season in 2022, Zollers had a 61.6% completion percentage with 2,052 passing yards, 241 rushing yards, 29 total TD's (23 passing, 6 rushing) and just 3 INT's.
Zollers is a three-year contributor dating back to his Freshman year, with career totals of a 61.6% completion percentage (387/628 passing), 5,505 passing yards, 67 passing TD's, 8 INT's, 750 rushing yards, and 13 rushing TD's as he heads into his senior season.
Zollers also plays basketball for Spring-Ford.
Zollers is the first commitment of the 2025 class for Missouri, but he is a guy that Eliah Drinkwitz can build the class around.
Missouri recently signed a top-25 class in 2024 that was headlined by five-star in-state EDGE rusher Williams Nwaneri and featured one QB in three-star Aidan Glover.
The Tigers return one of the SEC's top QB's in Brady Cook for the 2024 season, but this will be his last year in CoMo (so he will be gone when Zollers arrives).
The Missouri QB room also currently features another former highly touted QB recruit in Sam Horn (who has dealt with a slew of arm injuries as a two-sport athlete at Mizzou), plus Arizona State/Notre Dame transfer Drew Pyne along with Glover who will all compete with Zollers come 2025.
