The Missouri Tigers have struggled in conference play this season, but that didn’t hold them back from a walk-off win against the sixth ranked Florida Gators. Let’s take a look at how Missouri was able to take down Florida.
Logan Lunceford got the start for the Tigers and dominated the Gators lineup. In six innings pitched, Lunceford struck out eight batters and allowed just one hit, one walk, and no runs.
Carter Rustad got the win out of the bullpen for Missouri. In five innings of work, Rustad struck out five batters and gave up one hit, no walks, and one earned run.
Brandon Neely got the start for the Gators and had a decent start. In five innings pitched, Neely struck out three batters and allowed four hits, three walks, and one earned run.
Cade Fisher threw two scoreless innings out of the bullpen before Luke McNeillie came in to keep the tie game. In 3.1 innings pitched, McNeillie struck out five batters and allowed two hits, one walk, and one earned run.
Missouri got on the board early in the first inning after Jackson Beaman hit into a groundout to score Jeric Curtis.
After multiple chances to score, no teams were able to bring a run across until the eighth inning.
In the eighth inning, Luke Heyman comes up to the plate down a run with no runners on base. He drives a ball to left field and ties the game up at 1-1.
Both bullpens were able to throw scoreless ninth and tenth innings, but the eleventh was different.
Carter Rustad threw a scoreless top of the eleventh and Luke McNeillie tried to do the same and send the game to the twelfth inning.
Jackson Lovich hits a double before Jedier Hernandez hits a single through the left side to score the winning run.
Missouri wins 2-1 and takes down the sixth ranked Gators. Missouri improved their record to 13-18, with a 2-8 conference record. Florida dropped to 17-12, with a 6-4 conference record.
