NCAA Tournament Predictions for each SEC Team

In this article, I predict how far each of the eight SEC teams will make it in the NCAA Tournament. Whether it be the regular season SEC champion Tennessee Volunteers led by Dalton Knecht, or the up-start South Carolina Gamecocks, an eight bid league bodes well for some, and not for others.

Alabama Crimson Tide (4 Seed) – The Tide have struggled against stronger opponents this season. All year it seems like when they are just starting to get it rolling, they lose a game they should not.

Head Coach Nate Oats has not had stars like Grant Nelson, Mark Sears or Aaron Estrada emerge as consistently as they should have all season. While they have shown flashes, do not expect the Tide to be consistent enough to make it past the second round. And they may even get upset in the first.

Auburn Tigers (4 Seed) – Halfway through the season, The Auburn Tigers seemed to be struggling finding consistent guard play, but that seems to have shifted in the last couple of weeks.

Additionally, star junior Center, Johni Broome seems to be playing his best ball of the season. In the SEC Tournament, Broome had two games with double-doubles.

Unlike the Vols, the Tigers have supplementary pieces to their star in Broom as well, in forward Chad Baker-Mazara who is averaging 10.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this season.

Look for the Tigers to make a deep tournament run to the Final Four in 2024.
