NCAA Tournament Predictions for each SEC Team

In this article, I predict how far each of the eight SEC teams will make it in the NCAA Tournament. Whether it be the regular season SEC champion Tennessee Volunteers led by Dalton Knecht, or the up-start South Carolina Gamecocks, an eight bid league bodes well for some, and not for others.

South Carolina Gamecocks (6 Seed) – Lamont Paris has the Gamecocks humming this year, especially compared to what they were projected to be pre-season which was at the bottom of the SEC.

While the team as a whole is not experienced in the NCAA Tournament, Paris coached the Chattanooga Mocs to an appearance in 2021-2022, so there is at least some experience.

With low expectations, do not be surprised if the Gamecocks play without any pressure and make the elite eight this year.

Texas A&M Aggies (9 Seed) – Buzz Williams has Texas A&M clicking at the right time. The Aggies were a streaky team all season, but ended their five game losing skid in the month of February with a three game winning streak to end the regular season.

Williams had his team continuing strong play into the SEC tournament where they beat the Ole Miss Rebels and Kentucky Wildcats, which cemented their spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Despite their hot streak, look for the Aggies to fall early in the first round of the dance. Too much inconsistency and not enough star power make this one of Buzz Williams weaker teams for sure.
