Ranking the Best Live Mascots of the SEC

With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma, there will now be 10 live mascots in the SEC in 2024. While some of these mascots are large and initimidating, others are smaller and and take on more of a cuter appearance. Regardless, there are shapes and sizes of every SEC fans preference. In this article, I provide my rankings of my favorite live SEC mascots.

8. Reveille, Texas A&M

Reveille is okay. But when it comes to dogs, I just like smooshed faces. Reveille however does fit the Texas A&M look you could say. The beautiful, stoic-looking Rough Collie is known as the “first lady of Aggieland” and is the highest ranking member of the Corps of Cadets. Pretty neat backstory!

7. War Eagle, Auburn

For the fans of the Auburn Tigers, this is such a neat tradition and means everything to them. And while the bald eagle is one of the most beautiful birds, it just does not make my hair stand up like some of the other SEC mascots quite frankly.

Also to be fair, Aurea the bald eagle is actually not Auburn’s official mascot. Have to call a spade a spade here- sorry!

As far as the tradition goes, Aurea takes to the sky before the Tigers enter the stadium on gameday as the fans famously chant “war eagle.” The game is on from there.
