Ranking the Best Live Mascots of the SEC

With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma, there will now be 10 live mascots in the SEC in 2024. While some of these mascots are large and initimidating, others are smaller and and take on more of a cuter appearance. Regardless, there are shapes and sizes of every SEC fans preference. In this article, I provide my rankings of my favorite live SEC mascots.

2. Bully, Mississippi State

The lesser known English Bulldog between itself and UGA’s, “Bully, or “Dak” as he is known is the 22nd English Bulldog to patrol the sidelines in Starkville.

The significance of the nickname Dak should go without saying. But just in case, it is to pay tribute to former Mississippi State and current Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott.

While he may be lesser known, Bully is just as cute and embraced by the Mississippi State faithful, along with Prescott himself as seen in the X (formerly known as Twitter) photo link above

1. Tusk, Arkansas

Supremely underrated and super cute, the Arkansas Razorbacks mascot, Tusk takes the cake for me. The Razorbacks started having a live hog as their mascot in 1997 with “Tusk I,” and the tradition has continued.

I am sorry if you do not think so, but I do; pigs are the cutest. Tusk has a great setup to live day-to-day near Fayetteville on the Stokes Family Farm near Dardanelle, Arkansas according to www.arkansasrazorbacks.com.

The current mascot, “Tusk VI” is set to make appearances at every home game in 2024 and is available before the games for the fans to interact as well before he patrols into the stadium as the fans famously chant, “woo pig sooie.”
