Ranking the Most Disappointing Quarterbacks of the SEC Since 2010

The best quarterbacks at any position are easy to name typically, let alone quarterback in one of the most popular and best conferences in college football. What is not easy to think of often times are the worst quarterbacks. In this article, I share my thoughts on the worst starting quarterbacks of the SEC since 2010.

4. Jarrett Guarantano (2017-2021, Tennessee)

The Vols have had some tough times until the arrival of Josh Heupel as a program a few years ago, so there were a few options here. Names like Quinten Dormady and Matt Simms were also strong candidates. Guarantano however takes the cake as the class of 2016 prospect was ranked as the seventh quarterback nationally according to On3.

You would think that this type of ranking would produce more of a result than we saw from the multi-year starting quarterback for the Vols. Guarantano’s worst season was arguably his junior year where he completed only 59% of his passes and threw only 16 touchdowns to eight interceptions all year.
