Ranking the Top Five College Football Video Game Cover Athletes of All Time

Since EA Sports outed its first edition in 1995, tons of athletes have had the privilege to star on the cover, but not all have had such success since that time. Let’s take a look at the top five cover athletes since 1995 and see how their careers shaped out.

No. 4: Robert Griffin III - Baylor, Quarterback, 2008-2011

Griffin III starred in his rookie year at Baylor, throwing 15 touchdowns and collecting 2,091 passing yards. His best season was his last one in green, in 2011, when he threw a whopping 37 touchdown passes and 4,293 passing yards. His glow in green that season was rewarded with the Heisman Trophy.

Griffin III was drafted second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft to the Washington Redskins - now the Commanders. His first season saw 20 touchdowns and 3,200 passing yards. Throughout the rest of his career with the Browns and Ravens, Griffin III battled multiple injuries before calling it quits in 2020, ending his career in purple with Baltimore.
