Bruce Pearl and John Calipari may be two obvious adds here, but who else? In this article, I dive into coaching records and NCAA Tournament appearances that make each coach worthy or not worthy of being ranked amongst the top five coaches in the SEC.

Bruce Pearl (1)

331-213 with a winning percentage of 64%. Those are Bruce Pearl’s numbers as a head coach. Pearl has led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament four times within those 10 years.

While that may not seem worthy of putting a coach at number one, it is more than deserving considering the rough history of Auburn basketball. In the last 24 seasons before Pearl arrived on the plains, the Tigers only had three NCAA Tournament appearances.

This is quite the turnaround and the reason Pearl is at number one.
