Ranking the Worst College Mascots

It is really easy to think of some of the best college mascots as they are always top of mind. What are not top of mind alot of times are the worst ones. In this article, I took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to ask college sports fans who had the worst mascot. And they wasted no time weighing in.

1.The Stanford Tree (Stanford)

Although the Stanford Tree is the unofficial mascot of the Stanford Cardinal, let us call it what it is. This was by far the favorite for the worst mascot on X. Magnifying the tree is that you would think it would be easy for the Cardinal to have an official mascot given their name “Cardinal,” Right? I mean come on- create a costume of a red bird and you are set. The university has not done that though.

That magnifies the Stanford band’s unofficial mascot, the Stanford Tree to be deemed the worst mascot by much of the college fan base beyond Stanford.
