Day One Recap

The LSU Tigers came into this tournament as one of the hottest teams in the SEC. They continued this hot streak with an upset win over the 6th seeded Georgia Bulldogs with a final score of 9-1.

Gage Jump pitched seven innings and only allowed one run to pick up the win. Michael Braswell and Tommy White both had three hits and drove in a run. Josh Pearson, Alex Milazzo, and Steven Milam all had two hits and drove in multiple runs.

The South Carolina Gamecocks broke out of their six game losing streak by taking down the Alabama Crimson Tide with a final score of 10-5.

Chris Veach threw 5.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen to earn the win. Dalton Reeves hit a grand slam, Cole Messina had three hits and three runs batted in, and Ethan Petry had three hits and a run batted in.

The Vanderbilt Commodores got a big win over the Florida Gators with a final score of 6-3.

Bryce Cunningham got the start for the Commodores and threw six scoreless innings for the win. Calvin Hewett hit a home run and RJ Austin, Matthew Polk, and Braden Holcomb added run scoring singles.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs stayed in the tournament with a walk off win against the Ole Miss Rebels.

This game was a pitching duel between the Rebels Riley Maddox and the Bulldogs Brooks Auger. Ole Miss got a 1-0 lead in the fifth, but in the ninth inning, Connor Hujsak hit a two-run walkoff homer.
