SEC Baseball Week Five Power Rankings

After the first weekend of conference baseball, let's take a look at where each SEC team lands in my week five power rankings.

There were multiple upsets this weekend within the Southeastern Conference. Let's take a look at this weeks SEC power rankings.

All records and rankings are as of March 17th. Top 25 rankings are from D1Baseball.

Number 14: Missouri Tigers

The Missouri Tigers could not make anything happen this week as they faced off against the number one ranked team, Arkansas. They went 1-3 this week, making their record 9-11.

Last week, the Tigers faced off against Kansas in their midweek matchup and won 5-4 in extra innings. Over the weekend, Missouri got swept in a three game series against Arkansas. They only scored one run in the entire series against the Razorbacks.

Number 13: Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs had a tough week, getting swept by Kentucky, which made them fall far in the rankings. They went 1-3 this week, making their record 17-4.

In their midweek matchup, the Bulldogs hosted the Iowa Hawkeyes and won 10-5. Over the weekend, Georgia got swept by Kentucky in a three game series.

Number 12: #20 South Carolina Gamecocks

The South Carolina Gamecocks had a decent week where they went 2-2, making their overall record 15-5.

Last week, the Gamecocks faced off against Georgia State in their midweek matchup and won 4-3. Over the weekend, South Carolina travelled to Ole Miss and lost two out of three.

Number 11: #18 Auburn Tigers

The Auburn Tigers struggled this week, which included getting swept. They went 1-3, making their overall record 13-6.

Last week, the Tigers got a midweek victory against Troy, which ended with a final score of 8-2. Over the weekend, Auburn travelled to Vanderbilt, but got swept in three games.

Number 10: Ole Miss Rebels

The Ole Miss Rebels had a great week, which moved them up multiple spots. They went 3-1, making their overall record 15-6.

Last week, the Rebels got a big midweek victory over UL-Monroe, with a final score of 5-3. Over the weekend, Ole Miss won two out of three against South Carolina, the 20th ranked team in the country.

Number 9: Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Mississippi State Bulldogs had a solid week, going 3-2, making their overall record 15-6.

Last week, the Bulldogs lost to South Alabama and beat New Orleans in their midweek matchups. Over the weekend, Mississippi State hosted LSU, the 2nd ranked team in the country and won two out of three against them.

Number 8: Kentucky Wildcats

The Kentucky Wildcats had a dominant week, going 4-0, making their overall record 17-3.

Last week, the Wildcats got a win over Murray State in their midweek matchup, that ended with a final score of 10-6. Over the weekend, Kentucky hosted Georgia and swept them in a three game series.

Number 7: #2 LSU Tigers

The LSU Tigers struggled, which resulted in their fall in the rankings. They went 3-2 last week, making their overall record 17-4.

Last week, the Tigers hosted North Dakota State for two games during the midweek and won both. Over the weekend, LSU travelled to Mississippi State and lost two out of three.

Number 6: #5 Tennessee Volunteers

The Tennessee Volunteers had a decent week, going 2-2, making their overall record 18-3.

Last week, the Volunteers defeated Eastern Kentucky in their midweek matchup, 17-2. Over the weekend, Tennessee hosted Alabama and lost two out of three.

Number 5: #14 Alabama Crimson Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide had a solid week, where they got upset, but also upset Tennessee. They went 2-2 last week, making their overall record 17-3.

Last week, the Crimson Tide lost to Southern Mississippi in their midweek matchup, 9-7. Over the weekend, Alabama travelled to Tennessee and took two out of three from the series.

Number 4: #4 Texas A&M Aggies

The Texas A&M Aggies had a decent week, going 2-2, making their overall record 18-2.

Last week, the Aggies hosted Sam Houston for their midweek matchup and won 9-8. Over the weekend, Texas A&M travelled to Florida and lost two out of three.

Number 3: #8 Florida Gators

The Florida Gators had a solid week where they lost a big midweek game, but also got multiple upset wins. They went 2-2 last week, making their overall record 12-7.

Last week, the Gators lost a big midweek matchup against Florida State, 12-8. Over the weekend, Florida hosted undefeated Texas A&M and took two out of three games.

Number 2: #9 Vanderbilt Commodores

The Vanderbilt Commodores kept their long win streak of 13 intact this week, going 4-0, making their overall record 18-3.

Last week, the Commodores got a big midweek victory over Indiana, 13-5. Over the weekend, Vanderbilt hosted Auburn and swept them in a three game series.

Number 1: #1 Arkansas Razorbacks

The Arkansas Razorbacks proved they belong in the number one spot by showing pure dominance this week. They went 4-0, making their overall record, 17-2.

Last week, the Razorbacks got a big midweek win over Oral Roberts, with a final score of 4-2. Over the weekend, Arkansas held Missouri to just one run, to sweep them in three games.
