With non-conference action having officially come to a close, let's take a look at the latest update of our 2023-24 SEC basketball power rankings as we enter SEC play later this week.

Tennessee, Ole Miss rise in latest 2023-24 SEC basketball power rankings

14. Vanderbilt Commodores

Previous Ranking: 14

We begin our latest update with the Vanderbilt Commodores, who remain at No. 14 after what was a rough finish to non-conference play. After a 3-4 start to the year, Vanderbilt won only two of their last six games in the non-conference over both Alabama A&M and Dartmouth, with the Commodores also dropping four-straight in between the two wins against San Francisco, Texas Tech, Western Carolina, and Memphis.

Now sitting at 5-8 overall, the Commodores, who are SEC basketball's lone under .500 team, will open conference play Saturday at home against Alabama. The Commodores will also travel to both LSU and Ole Miss next week.

13. LSU Tigers

Previous Ranking: 13

Also remaining at No. 13 are the LSU Tigers, who despite having played better in recent weeks, do not move in this week's update. After a 4-3 start to the year, LSU has won four of their last six games over Southeastern Louisiana, Alabama State, Lamar, and Northwestern State, with the losses having come against a pair of Big 12 programs in Kansas State and Texas.

Now sitting at 8-5 overall, LSU will open SEC play Saturday on the road at Texas A&M. The Tigers will also host Vanderbilt next week, as well as travel to Auburn.
