Joe Sloan is currently the quarterback coach at LSU where he has been since 2022. Yes; that’s the same timeline as 2023 Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.
Sloan is credited in large part for the development of Daniels , and seems to be developing projected 2024 starting quarterback for the Tigers, Garrett Nussmeier who led the Tigers to a bowl victory over Wisconsin this past season. This cannot be ignored.
While rumors surround Sloan to become the next offensive coordinator for the Tigers, he is clearly climbing up the coaching ladder. Look for his name to emerge in a few years as a head coach somewhere in the college football landscape.
