SEC Football: Offseason grades per school

Each team had a busy offseason in the SEC, and I grade their offseasons overall in this article.

Mississippi State (B-)

The Mississippi State Bulldogs brought in a new head coach in Jeff Lebby, which makes for their third head coach in the last two years. The turnover within the program has showed on the field, but hopes are that Lebby can right the ship.

Although unproven as a head coach, Lebby has spent time behind some great offensive minds in Lane Kiffin, Art Bryles, Scott Frost and Josh Heupel.

The Bulldogs did bring in quarterback Blake Shapen who spent his sophomore and junior seasons as the starting quarterback for the Baylor Bears.

Missouri (B+)

The Missouri Tigers do bring back starting quarterback Brady Cook and top wide receiver Luther Burden III. They did however lose their defensive coordinator in Blake Baker to the Missouri Tigers, as well as their entire starting secondary.

Coming off of a great 2023 season, the Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz kept the momentum going on the recruiting trail signing edge rusher Williams Nwaneri who ranks as the number one edge rusher nationally in the 2023 class according to On3
