Alabama QB Jalen Milroe to return for 2024 season
According to The Next Round, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe will return to Tuscaloosa for the 2024 season. In his first season as the Crimson Tide's starter, Milroe has posted a 65.5 CMP% with 2,718 passing yards and a 23:6 TD:INT ratio, while also having rushed for 468 yards and 12 scores on 140 attempts.
Oklahoma DB Key Lawrence commits to Ole Miss
After originally beginning his collegiate career at Tennessee, Oklahoma defensive back Key Lawrence is back in the SEC as he has committed to Ole Miss. Lawrence, who compiled 149 tackles across the last three seasons at Oklahoma, is coming off a season in which he had 44 tackles, four TFL, two INT, three PD, and one FF for the Sooners.
Alabama hires former Michigan assistant coach George Helow
Alabama has hired former Michigan assistant coach George Helow to their staff. Helow previously was on the Wolverines staff from 2021-22, where he was the linebackers coach.
Auburn QB Robby Ashford enters transfer portal
After spending two seasons with the Tigers, Auburn quarterback Robby Ashford has entered the transfer portal. The former starter for the Tigers in 2022, Ashford was primarily Auburn's backup during the 2023 season, posting a 51.9 CMP% with 145 passing yards and a 2:2 TD:INT ratio, while also having rushed for 217 yards and five touchdowns on 46 attempts.
5-star PF Derrion Reid to announce decision on December 22
One of the nation's top uncommitted prospects for the 2024 cycle, Derrion Reid will make his college decision December 22 between Alabama, Florida State, and Georgia. The top player in the state of California, Reid is rated as a five-star power forward out of Prolific Prep.
