Sunday night was the opening night of the 2024 MLB Draft, with the first 74 picks being made. These picks made up the first two rounds of the draft, as well as a few supplementary and incentive picks after round 1 and round 2.

As you could guess, the SEC was very well represented early and often Sunday night. In total, 19 SEC players were selected Sunday night (I'm not counting the one player each that Oklahoma and Texas had selected (Carson Benge and Jared Thomas respectively) in this because they did not technically play in the SEC and this draft was based on the 2024 season). That means that the SEC made up just over one-fourth of all of the players selected (25.7%) on Sunday night.

Tennessee led the way with four players drafted, while LSU trailed just behind them with three. Kentucky, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt all had two players each. Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Georgia all had one player picked apiece.

While there will be several hundred more picks to be made in rounds 3-20 on Monday and Tuesday (with many more coming from the SEC), here are the players that went on night one (the first team listed is where the player played in college, and the second team is who drafted him):
