Number 23: Auburn Tigers

The Auburn Tigers have entered the top 25 rankings for the first time this season after an impressive 6-1 start to the season.

The Tigers began the season unranked after going 34-23-1 in 2023. After sweeping Eastern Kentucky in the first series of the season, Auburn travelled to Jacksonville, Florida to compete in the Jax College Baseball Classic.

The Tigers began the tournament by upsetting the eighteenth ranked Iowa Hawkeyes with a final score of 7-5. Game two was a blowout over Wichita State with a final score of 19-8. In their final game, Auburn lost to the tenth ranked Virginia Cavaliers with a final score of 6-4. This was enough to get the Tigers ranked at number 23.

Deric Fabian is off to a great start to the season, leading the Tigers offensively. Fabian has a batting average of .412 with a home run and ten runs batted in. He also has a double and a 1.192 OPS.

This week, Auburn hosts Samford University on Tuesday night. This weekend, Auburn stays at home with a series against the University of Connecticut.
