Number 8: Tennessee Volunteers

The Tennessee Volunteers are off to a great start to the season as their record sits at 7-1.

The Volunteers moved up a spot this week in the top 25 to number eight. They went undefeated this week with a close victory over UNC Asheville and a blowout over East Tennessee State.

Tennessee swept Albany over the weekend with two blowouts and a close victory. The Volunteers took game one with an 8-5 victory. Games two and three were both blowouts with the second game being 21-6 and the third 12-0.

Kavares Tears is the top hitter for Tennessee to start the season. Through seven games, Tears has a batting average of .391 with three home runs and ten runs batted in. He also has an OPS of 1.247.

This week, Tennessee takes on High Point on Tuesday night and stays home for a three game series against Bowling Green.
