Number 5: Tennessee Volunteers
The Tennessee Volunteers stayed hot last week, winning five games to move them from number eight to number five. Their overall record sits at 16-1.
Last week, the Volunteers won all five of their games, which included two midweek wins over Kansas State and Southern Indiana. They also swept Illinois over the weekend in a three game series.
Billy Amick has been the best overall hitter for Tennessee this season. In 17 games, Amick has a batting average of .365 with nine home runs and 21 runs batted in. He also has an OPS of 1.304, which includes an on-base percentage of .431 and a slugging percentage of .873.
AJ Causey has been the best pitcher for the Volunteers so far. Through four appearances, Causey has an earned run average of 1.31 in 20.2 innings pitched with 30 strikeouts.
This week, the Volunteers play Eastern Kentucky in their midweek contest and travel to face off against Alabama for a three game series.
