The 11th seeded LSU Tigers have fought all the way the tournament championship after an impressive 4-0 run in the tournament. Each game they played was against a team ranked higher than them. They took down the 6th seeded Georgia Bulldogs, the 3rd seeded Kentucky Wildcats, and the 10th seeded South Carolina Gamecocks two times.

The Tigers will be facing the one seeded Tennessee Volunteers who lost in the first round, but battled all the way to the championship. Tennessee began this tournament with a blowout loss to the 8th seeded Vanderbilt Commodores, but battled back with two wins against the 4th seeded Texas A&M Aggies and the 5th seeded Mississippi State Bulldogs. This got them a second game with Vanderbilt and the Volunteers were able to win the second matchup to clinch a spot in the championship.

These two teams played each other in the regular season in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Volunteers swept the Tigers in a three game series. After LSU got swept, they went on to win three straight series in conference play, which led them to a spot in the SEC Tournament.

Today's championship game should feature two solid pitchers

LSU will likely send out left handed starter, Gage Jump. He started in game one of the tournament and has four days of rest, which makes it likely that he will throw today. This season, Jump has a 6-1 record with an earned run average of 3.42 in 73.2 innings pitched and has struck out 89 batters.

Tennessee will likely send out right handed sophomore, Nate Snead. He also started in game one of the tournament and has four days of rest, so it is likely the Volunteers go with him. This season, Snead has seen most of his innings out of the bullpen, which has resulted in a 8-2 record with an earned run average of 3.26 earned run average in 60.2 innings pitched and has struck out 52 batters.

First pitch will be at 3:00 eastern time. The winner gets an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
