10th Seed : South Carolina Gamecocks

The South Carolina Gamecocks clinched a spot in the tournament weeks ago, but they have not been very good recently. They have lost six straight games and that inlcudes being swept by Georgia and Tennessee. Their record on the season sits at 33-21, with a 13-17 conference record.

South Carolina was a ranked team before falling into this team slump. They have been an average team in the conference as their team stats all fall in the middle. Two bats in their lineup have led the Gamecocks this season and will lead them in the tournament.

Cole Messina has been one of the top hitters in the South Carolina lineup. This season, Messina has a batting average of .312 with 16 home runs and 53 runs batted in. He also has an OPS of 1.097, which includes an on-base percentage of .444 and a slugging percentage of .653.

Ethan Petry is another solid hitter in the Gamecocks lineup. This season, Petry has a batting average of .298 with 20 home runs and 51 runs batted in. He also has an OPS of 1.115, which includes an on-base percentage of .471 and a slugging percentage of .644.

If the South Carolina pitching staff improves, they have a shot at going on a run in the tournament. Their offense will score runs, but they will need to limit the runs from the opposing teams.

South Carolina will face Alabama in their first game of the tournament after the LSU game.

9th Seed : Florida Gators

The Florida Gators clinched their spot into the tournament this weekend after Missouri lost in game one to Mississippi State. That game would not have mattered though, as Florida was able to take two out of three from Georgia. This made their final regular season record 28-26, with a conference record of 13-17.

If Florida wants to be successful in the postseason, then their pitchers will need to limit the runs. This season, the Gators pitching staff ranks last in the Southeastern Conference in earned run average at 6.28. They are also second to last in opponent batting average at .269 and walks allowed at 243 free passes.

Their offense has been very impressive behind top draft prospect Jac Caglianone. This season, Caglianone has a batting average of .413 with 29 home runs and 58 runs batted in. He also has an OPS of 1.376, which includes an on-base percentage of .525 and a slugging percentage of .851.

The Gators will be able to score runs, but as the season as shown, they have not been able to score enough to win ballgames. If the pitching does a little better, Florida has a chance.

Florida's first game will be on Tuesday afternoon against Vanderbilt.
