Seven keys for Alabama vs Georgia
One of the most anticipated games of the College Football season is this weekend as Georgia travels to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama in a top-4 clash. While these two teams have been well acquainted the last few years in the postseason, this is actually just their second regular season matchup since Kirby Smart arrived at Georgia in 2016.
With so many eyes on this game, here are seven keys that could help determine the winner on Saturday:
Georgia containing Jalen Milroe
What makes Jalen Milroe so dangerous is that he can beat you in so many ways. He is a legit threat with his legs, but to say that is demeaning to what he can do with his arm. Milroe is arguably the best deep-ball thrower in the country. Not only that, but he has shown a lot of improvements in his middle accuracy as well this season.
Last season in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia, Milroe ran for 68 sack adjusted yards (including a 30-yarder). He also iced the game with a 9 yard run in the final two minutes that allowed Alabama to kneel out the game.
So far this season, Milroe is completing 67.3% of his passes for 590 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. He also has 156 rushing yards and 6 TD's on the ground as well. Georgia's defensive line will have to be disciplined in their pass-rush to keep lanes from opening up, and then linebackers Smael Mondon, CJ Allen, and Raylen Wilson will also play a role as well.
