Alabama's defensive backs containing Georgia's receivers

One of my biggest takeaways from the Alabama-South Florida game was that USF missed several chances on open receivers down the field. Several times, especially in the 1st half, USF had receivers open down the field, but Bulls quarterback Byrum Brown could not connect with any of his receivers. Georgia might need to hit on a deep-shot or two in this game to win.

Georgia's two biggest deep threats are likely Arian Smith (who has 11 catches for 142 yards this season) and Anthony Evans III (Evans has been sparingly used so far this season on offense). While Georgia will be without London Humphreys (more on that later), the Dawgs do still have a talented receiver core that also includes Dominic Lovett (12 catches, 155 yards this season) and Dillon Bell (9 catches, 98 yards this season).

Alabama's starting DB's are Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown at corner, Malachi Moore and Keon Sabb at safety, and then either DeVonta Smith or Red Morgan at Husky/nickel.

Alabama has a stud freshman wide receiver in Ryan Williams

Ryan Williams has been arguably the most impactful Freshman in the country through the first three weeks. He is a home run threat who can score every time he touches the ball. So far on the season he has 10 catches, 285 receiving yards, and 4 TD's. He is a game-breaker. Simple as that. Alabama also likes to line up Williams in different spots to try and force mis-matches.

It will be interesting to see how Georgia deals with Williams. We have seen Alabama receivers be the difference-makers against Georgia in some of their recent matchups, and Williams has the ability to do that.

Georgia's top corner is Daylen Everette, but the opposite side corner in Julian Humphrey has played very well this season. Arguably Georgia's top player overall is Safety Malaki Starks. Dan Jackson and KJ Bolden will likely both play at the other safety spot with Joenel Aguero and JaCorey Thomas likely to play at Star/Nickel
